It's a big list this week with nearly 50 DVDs here (including a few that are late reviews). This includes this year's big Oscar winner, Slumdog Millionaire, which is coming out on DVD and Blu-ray. Also coming out this week is two foreign language thrillers: Tell No One on DVD and Blu-ray, and Timecrimes on DVD. All three are worthy picking up. In fact, all three are DVD Picks of the Week. With so many releases, it comes as no surprise that this week's list has to be split into two, with the first part found here.

It took three weeks, but Transsiberian landed on top of the per theater chart with an estimated $27,000 in just 2 theaters for an average of $13,500, which was a little more than it earned last week. Also in limited release, Man on Wire saw its overall number drop by a small amount despite doubling its theater count to 4, which resulted in its average falling to $12,119. The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor opened with an average of $10,760 in 3,760 theaters. Frozen River barely reached the $10,000 mark with an average of $10,033 in 7 theaters, although it wasn't as close as The Dark Knight was, as that film earned an average of $10,001.

During its record-breaking weekend, The Dark Knight set the record for best per theater average for a wide releases, so it comes as no surprise it tops the per theater chart this weekend, and did so with $36,283. The only other film to top $10,000 was Transsiberian with an average of $17,308 in two theaters while Before I Forget came close with $9,676 in one theater.

The Wackness opened in first place on the per theater chart with an average of $23,067. But I'm going to wait to see how well it expands before judging its chances of becoming this year's sleeper hit. After all, so many limited releases have failed to make it there this year. Second place went to fellow limited release, Tell No One, which opened with an estimated average of $21,250 in 8 theaters. The overall box office leader, Hancock, was the only other new release to top $10,000 on the per theater chart -- it earned an average of $15,789.

There were a couple of sites that were in contention for the Weekly Website Award, including one of the limited releases. It is not that common for a limited release to have a top notch site, because the advertising budget tends to be as limited as its screen count. However, while The Wackness' Official Site stood out from the crowd, Hancock's Official Site was deemed the best of the week.

The long weekend didn't result in a long list of limited releases. That said, there are a few releases that have a shot at succeeding in limited release, even if I wouldn't be willing to wager any of them will escape to the multiplexes.

There weren't as many websites on this week's list as in the past few weeks, but there were at least three that earned some consideration for the Weekly Website Award. In the end, that honor went to I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - Official Site.
