According to Amazon.com, the best selling new release of the week is a catalog Blu-ray release. Not only that, it is a double-dip. There were a few contenders for Pick of the Week, including the aforementioned Blu-ray double-dip: Total Recall: Mind-Bending Edition. It looks better than the previous edition, it has more extras, and it is really cheap. Forever Marilyn is a great Blu-ray and is also excellent value for the money. Finally, Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXIV. 'Nuff said. So which one is the pick of the week? Honestly, I can't decide. Call it a three-way tie.

Private Romeo, as the name might indicate, is a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The big twist here, besides the military school setting, is the nature of the tragic romance. It is part of Gay cinema. Is this enough to make it stand out from all of the other adaptations of Romeo and Juliet? Will it appeal to fans of Gay cinema? Will it have a wider audience?

There are two wide releases coming out next week, The Watch and Step Up Revolution. Nearly everyone is assuming The Dark Knight Rises will be the biggest film over the weekend, but we need a new release to be the the target film for this week's box office prediction contest, and The Watch has the best shot for second place. In order to win, one must simply predict the opening weekend box office number for The Watch.
Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going over, will win a copy of Private Romeo on DVD.
Meanwhile, whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going under, will also win a copy of Private Romeo on DVD.
Entries must be received by 10 a.m., Pacific Time on Friday to be eligible, so don't delay!
