Per Theater Chart: 2 Days 2 Strong
August 15, 2012
2 Days in New York led the way on the per theater chart with an average of $11,971 in two theaters. This is well below its predecessor and it likely won't have the same legs either. The re-release of Max and the Junkman earned $11,264 in its lone theater. The overall number one film, The Bourne Legacy, cracked the $10,000 club with an average of $10,185. Red Hook Summer was right behind with an average of $10,018 in four theaters.
There were only a couple other new limited releases able to find substantial audiences. $upercapitalist outperformed its reviews with $8,372 in one theater. Meet the Fokkens earned $7,628 over the weekend, also in one theater, while it made $10,128 from Wednesday through Sunday. From Beneath was not as strong with just under $50,000 in 18 theaters for an average of $2,646. It is the wrong genre for limited release, but it might find an audience on the home market. Dreams of a Life missed the Mendoza Line with $1,543 in its one theater.
This past week also saw milestones reached for a couple Per Theater Chart alumni:
