Per Theater Chart: Taking the High Road

There were only a couple films to topped the $10,000 mark on this week's per theater chart, while many more failed to reach the Mendoza Line. We find Munger Road on the high end with $36,605 in its lone theater. Meanwhile, Take Shelter was the only other film in the $10,000 club with an average of $17,347. Both film should expand, but the latter should have a better shot at earning some mainstream success over the former.
The best of the rest of the new limited releases was Finding Joe with $8,753 in one theater which suggests some potential to expand. Filth to Ashes, Flesh to Dust is an ultra-low budget horror film. How low budget? It has already made more than it reportedly cost to make at $86,000 in eleven theaters for an average of $7,826. There's quite a big drop to the next film, Margret, which earned an average of $3,763 in two theaters. American Teacher was close behind with an average of $3,018, also in two theaters. My Joy just opened ahead of the Mendoza Line with $2,077 in one theater.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil wasn't so lucky with an average $1,705 in 30 theaters. This is not a great start, but it did open in Video on Demand previously and it was playing in too many theaters. Benda Bilili and Muran were right behind with $1,678 in one theater and $1,649 in ten theaters respectively. Sarah Palin: You Betcha! and Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster were neck-and-neck with a averages of $1,152 in six theaters and $1,061 in nine theaters.
