DVD Rentals - Play it Again
September 15, 2009
Just as it did on the sales chart, State of Play topped all new releases finishing first on this week's rental chart.
Duplicity slipped to second place with 25% fewer rentals, while The Last House on the Left remained in third place. Fighting fell from second to fourth with Adventureland rounding out the top five for the second week in a row.
The best of the rest of the new releases was The Line, which opened in ninth place during its Blockbusters rental early release. It won't be released for sale till early November. Bring it On - Fight to the Finish was right behind in tenth place, which was weaker than its placing on the sales chart, which was not expected. Earth opened in 16th place, while the final new release to chart was Sin Nombre in 23rd place.
Overall sales were down 8.5% from last week to $143.3 million; however, that was 22.1% higher than the same weekend last year.
