This Is It saw its weekend haul fall 42% internationally, but it still stood on top with $29.50 million on 8,623 screens in 76 markets for a total of $129.23 million internationally and $186.24 million worldwide.
The film reached $100 million internationally early in the weekend and could reach $200 million worldwide, perhaps before this weekend.
The film held on well in Japan to remain in first place with $3.93 million on 322 screens for a total of $23.52 million.
It also remained in first place in Australia with $1.74 million on 292 screens over the weekend for a total of $6.80 million.
On the other hand, it was down 72% in the U.K. and fell to second place with $2.27 million on 486 screens over the weekend for a total of $13.61 million, also after two.
Disney's A Christmas Carol earned second place internationally with $12.89 million on 2,934 screens in 19 markets during its opening weekend.
This is 50% more than The Polar Express made during its openings in those markets, but that movie struggled internationally and finished with just $120 million.
Christmas Carol earned first place in the U.K. with $3.22 million on 657 screens and in Mexico with $2.06 million on 666.
The film placed fourth in Germany, but it earned a respectable $2.51 million on 510 screens, which gave it one of the best per screen averages internationally.
Up slipped to third place with $8.76 million on 3,227 screens in 23 markets for a total of $368.11 million internationally and $661.09 million worldwide.
In the U.K. it added $2.17 million on 576 screens for a total of $52.66 million after a month of release.
In Italy it made $2.02 million on 370 screens over the weekend for a total of $20.50 million after four.
Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani opened in fourth place with $6.20 million on 1,094 screens in 16 markets, which is very impressive for an Indian film.
Saw VI climbed into the top five for the first time in its run with $5.86 million on 1,659 screens in 27 markets for a total of $20.21 million internationally.
Its biggest opening came in France where it made $2.00 million on 179 screens, but that was only enough for fifth.
Its best opening came in Brazil where in placed second with $761,000 on 204 screens.
