Movie Website Updates for January 6 - January 12
January 12, 2006
During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. I can't say that it was a particularly busy week, but at least we had a site that was well deserving of recognition in Nanny McPhee - Official Site.

April's Shower - Official Site
Big Momma's House 2 - Official Site
Brick - Official Site
Clerks 2: The Passion of the Clerks - Official Site

Hard Candy - Official Site
Hoodwinked - Official Site
Lady in the Water - Official Site
Last Holiday - Official Site
Nanny McPhee - Official Site
Running Scared - Official Site
See No Evil - Official Site
Tristan & Isolde - Official Site
Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story - Official Site

When Do We Eat - Official Site
This is a lame site so far with only the production notes marked coming soon. But who knows, maybe some new features will be added before the movie hits theatres.
Just the teaser trailer so far.
The three games were added and the quick time links were fixed. Overall it's a good site, but not up to the level of an award-winner.
Simple site with all the usual features plus a ton of clips. I'm not sure it sells the film well, on the other hand.
The flash site launched this week and it has all the usual features, but nothing that comes close to setting it apart from the other sites on this list.
The site has been redesigned, but the only content there now is the trailer and a new section.
It does says Full Site Coming Soon, and the release date is a couple of months away so there's plenty of time.
The teaser trailer is online, but like most such trailers, it is too much teaser and not enough trailer for my liking. However, it should get the base excited. There's also another video clip raising the sum total to 41.
No real changes since the site first appeared on this column.
The film opens tomorrow, so there shouldn't be features still marked coming soon.
However, this site has Team, Clips, Behind-the-Scenes, and TV Spots are all marked coming soon.
I've been handed the links to the trailer, which is in WMV only. Small, Medium, Large. There's also a Tiny version of the trailer, but it was so small I couldn't read the text in the IM messages that start the trailer so it is more or less useless to me. I'm of two minds when it comes to this movie. On the one hand, it looks like it could be a really good thriller. On the other hand, I hate it when movies demonize the Internet; perhaps that's cause I make my living from the 'Net and I'm a little sensitive when people unfairly attack it. Even so, the film looks good enough to overcome my personal bias.
No updates since last week, which means the world of Hoodwinked, one video clip and two music videos are still marked coming soon.
New look, no new content.
Two clips were added to the site just in time for tomorrow's release.
Huge site with tons to see and do including several clips, a few games, a behind-the-scenes look at Nanny McPhee's make-up and more. The heart of the site is the map to the Brown house where you can travel to each of the five rooms. There you can find the aforementioned clips, games, etc. but you will also be able to click on seemingly random objects for a bit of animation. (For instance, you can make a wall crack or some windows break.) And if you explore enough and accept all of the rules you can find bonus downloads. Overall an excellent site and easily the winner of the attentive Weekly Website Award.
The first six minutes of the movie are online, but you have to prove you are at least 17 years old, which again means giving out more information than I'm willing over the Internet.
Just the trailer so far, which left me cold. I'm not a fan of Teenage Slasher Flicks, especially the more sadistic ones, and there's just too many of them coming out.
All the usual features are here, plus a couple of extras, but nothing that really makes the site stand out.
There's a voice mail added to the site from a person who apparently doesn't get the gist of the site.
A new game was added to the site, which is very similar to the games found on The Legend of Zorro's Official Site, among others. Because the timer was a little short for moving four players by yourself, the game lost a lot of its potential for strategy. Maybe when there are more people there, there will be less of a need to play one-on-one.
There's a big interactive section added to the site, but it gives out too much information in my opinion. Then again, it is a remake so trying to keep the surprise a secret might be a little hard.
Lots of information on this site, with just a touch of style. I liked the short character bios but the full trailer didn't do it for me.
