Per Theatre Charts: Lone Bull

Despite a steep-for-a-limited-release drop-off of 33%, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story was again able to top the Per Theatre Average charts. In fact, its average of $13,568 was nearly double its nearest competitor.

On the other hand, there were a few films that managed to reach a milestone during the past week.

• Rang De Basanti fell just shy of 40% during its second weekend of release, which is to be expected for a niche market film, however, that didn't stop it from topping $1 million over the weekend.
• The Work and the Glory: American Zion never earned the mainstream success the filmmakers were hoping for, but it has stuck around long enough to reach $2 million at the box office, which is better than 90% of films made for the Mormon set.
• Transamerica had its best weekend and that helped it hit $2 million over the weekend and it still have plenty of room to grow.
• Mrs. Henderson Presents also had its best weekend of its run, but this film has now made $3 million. However, further expansion seems much less likely.
• Match Point will likely start shedding theatres soon, but it still hit $15 million early in the weekend and is now less than $1 million away from beating Small Time Crooks' final box office. When it does manage to do that, it will become Woody Allen's biggest box office hit since 1989's Crimes and Misdemeanors.
