Blade Ambushes Audiences
December 8, 2004
The final installment in the Blade Trilogy, aptly sub-titled Trinity, gets a jump on the weekend opening tonight.
Reviews are tepid, even compared to the first two, but films like this rely less on earning critical appeal and more an having a MTV type ad campaign with quick cuts and loud music.
Speaking of the ad campaign, it seems like they are hyping Jessica Biel role in the movie more than Ryan Reynolds or even Wesley Snipes.
As for expectations, look for just over $5 million tonight, just under $3 million Thursday and $21 million over the weekend. And enough legs to get to $100 million, or close enough that the studio will try and push it over that milestone.
