Weekend predictions: Five new releases go after Snow White

March 28, 2025

Disney’s Snow White

Snow White will most likely hold on to top spot on the box office chart this weekend, but no less than five (and potentially as many as seven) new films should land in the top 10, with Jason Statham action movie A Working Man leading the way.

With so many new releases this weekend, we’ll have to do a quick data dump on our all our model’s predictions.

Princess Mononoke is unusual, because we don’t have a baseline prediction and have to rely on its (great) Thursday preview numbers to guide us…

The release plan for The Chosen: Last Super—Part 1 is unusual because it had some IMAX screenings yesterday, some today, and will have more on Sunday. We haven’t received any information on its performance so far.

Here’s what the model thinks the top 10 will look like.

It’s also worth noting that Sikandar, an Indian film, has a good chance of landing in the top 10, and also that L2: Empuraan, also from India, did good numbers yesterday and will play through the weekend. So there’s an outside chance we’ll see seven new releases in the top 10.

The bad news is that none of them will earn enough to improve the state of the overall market.
