The Counterfeiters was the only film to cross $10,000 on the per theater chart this week, pulling in $185,000 in 18 theaters for an average or $10,295. One must assume its Oscar Win boosted its box office this weekend.

Juno nearly climbed into the top five with $7.08 million on 1745 screens in 25 markets for a total of $39.17 million. This includes a surprise first place opening in Brazil with $808,000 on 146 screens over the weekend and $1.26 million in total. On the other hand, it struggled in South Korea with $222,000 on 203 screens over the weekend and $283,000 in total. As for holdovers, the film was down just 7% in Mexico to $454,000 on 150 screens over the weekend for a two-week total of $1.37 million while it added $2.11 million on 368 screens in the U.K. for a total of $13.41 million there.

The Duchess of Langeais was the number one film on the per theater chart this week, earning an average of $11,126 in two theaters while Oscar-winner The Counterfeiters earned an average of $10,939 in 8 theaters.

Jumper landed on top of the international chart during its opening weekend with $29.37 million on 2828 screens in 30 markets, 20 of which the film opened in first place. These number one debuts include the U.K. where it earned $5.99 million on 406 screens and South Korea where it made $4.02 million on 429 screens over the weekend and $5.07 million in total. The film earned nearly identical result in Spain ($3.74 million on 447 screens) and in Russia ($3.71 million on 422 screens), while it earned $3.15 million on 273 screens in Australia placing first in all three markets.

Jodhaa Akbar opened on top of the per theater averages chart with an estimated $1.3 million opening 100 theaters. The only other member of the $10,000 club was U2 3D with an average of $10,198 during its fourth week of release.

It's a strange week for limited releases with only two films opening in less than 10 theaters, and one of those in Canadian and it is very, very rare for Canadian films to open in more than 10 theaters. But the list also includes four films opening in more than a dozen theaters and one that even breaks 100 theaters.
