Synopsis
High school is hard, Catholic school is harder. Set in the early 2000’s, Alice, a strait-laced student devoted to God, discovers more than she bargained for when she dives too deep into a AOL chatroom for local hook ups. Now struggling with newfound temptation, Alice looks for answers, but only finds carnal knowledge; whether it be the dreamy star quarterback’s hairy arms, the queen bee’s spicy love affair, or even the school priest’s own hidden indiscretion. Through the roller coaster of emotions and sexual urges, Alice learns when it comes between the forbidden fruit and the word of God, human nature is undefeated.

The best release on this week’s list is Yes, God, Yes, but Amazon has it currently unavailable, so grab it from Target instead.

This week’s line-up of new films on VOD features several films well worth a rental. In our main list, only You Should Have Left is a miss, and has some redeeming qualities. Yes, God, Yes is the one I would recommend the most, but An Accidental Studio comes a close second. Here are this week’s new releases on VOD.

This is going to be a good weekend if you like horror, as there are three such films to choose from arriving in theaters. All of them are earning good reviews too, but the competition may result in none of them finding an audience in theaters. On the other and, Yes, God, Yes is the only drama / comedy generating any buzz, so it has its target audience to itself. Unfortunately, lighter movies have not done well during the pandemic, so it faces an uphill battle.
