Per Theater Chart: Very Little Room at the Top
October 21, 2015
Room was in a close race for top spot on the per theater with last week's winner, but it came out on top with an average of $29,575 in four theaters. Steve Jobs was right behind with an average of $25,212 in 60. This film is going to expand wide this weekend and could lead the weekend. The Assassin earned an average of $11,973 in four theaters, which is strong for a foreign-language film. Meanwhile, Truth was right behind with an average of $11,039 in six.
There was a wide spread of the new limited releases. All Things Must Pass came close to the $10,000 club with an average of $9,501 in two theaters. A Ballerina's Tale was well back with an average of $4,694 in two theaters. Experimenter pulled in an average of $2,894 in three theaters. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 was playing in 49 theaters, which is a lot, which explains why it only managed an average of $2,191. On the other hand, Death Valley was only playing two theaters and earned an average of just $2,172. Beasts of No Nation missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,645 in 31 theaters. Finally, there's Cut Snake. This film only managed an average of $49 in two theaters. That's not the worst average, that "honor" goes to The Worst Movie EVER!, which earned $11 in its lone theater.
